Technical recommendation for the installation of led lighting

To guarantee the longevity of led light sources, we invite users of led products to respect the rules of installations.

Evacuation of the heat emitted by the led,s.

·       The products must be able to evacuate the heat emitted by the led sources

·       The LED strips must obligatorily be installed on a profiled plus to allow an optimal dissipation of the heat.

·       The bulbs, led panels must not be directly covered with insulation.

·       If the led bulb is installed directly in a luminaire, the luminaire must allow the ventilation of the bulb.

·       The products must be installed in an ambient temperature according to the technical data sheet of the product.

·       The increase or decrease of the temperature implemented on the data sheet can lead to a decrease in the lifetime of the led lighting.

·       It is important to secure your circuit with a filter that will regulate the voltage of your network to avoid voltage spikes that can damage your LED lighting.

 Control of the led lighting circuit

·       The ON / OFF contact must be a frank and dry contact: that is to say without creating an electric arc at the time of power-up. This happens when you turn on or off a circuit via the electrical panel.

·       The timers, detectors or twilight sensor must not directly control the switching on or off of the electric circuit of the led lighting. These devices must give the ON / OFF command to a relay that opens or closes the LED lighting circuit.

·       A relay, circuit breaker or led dimmer is limited to a load up to 10 times lower than halogen.

LED lighting supply voltages

·       The lighting circuit must be protected from the risk of lightning.

·       The same lighting circuit must not mix LED lighting and other types of lighting, especially discharge lamps. Surges can be created.

·       The neutral speed must be carefully observed, a connection error or a break of the neutral can cause a doubling of tensions felt by the led lighting.

·       Led lighting circuits must not be subjected to voltage disturbances, such as harmonics, flickers, discharge lamps or fluorescent tubes and electric motors which are known generators of these disturbances.

·         The accessories upstream of the led lighting must be a specific LED.
